Pai Gow Poker is a current game with old ancestry. Built on the ancient Chinese domino game and the modern American version of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the east with the west in a fantastic game for beginner level players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler against the house, unlike the majority of other poker games that gamblers play against other gamblers. By betting against the dealer, new players do not need to fret about other, more advanced players winning their mulla.

An additional Pai Gow advantage is the fairly slow game play, newcomers should be able to take their time and strategize while not having to make hasty choices.

It’s also easier to play for an extended time with just a little amount of money seeing as, to not win, each of your hands has to be under each of the casino’s hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The gambler is assigned 7 cards faces showing and the house receives 7 cards face down.

A five card hand and a two card hand have to be put together from the seven cards, the five card hand has to be better than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand totals to be larger than the houses.
