Do you ever receive that itch? The itch to gamble, to head to the closest gambling establishment, to uncover a good stakes casino game of Holdem, to sit at a Black jack table for hours on end. I like that itch. And I love to scratch it.
I also really like to watch men and women gamble. No 2 poker faces seem similar. When I gamble I like to consider I put on a poker face that is impassable. Except I know I have particular mannerisms. For one, the only time I smoke cigarettes is when I bet on poker or Twenty-one. And then I smoke. But I chain smoke no matter if I am winning or losing, no matter if I’ve a beneficial hand or bad.
I once wagered in a weekly poker game. The game was constantly 5 card draw. There was a man who wagered with us each week who usually wore a hat. When he was dealt a excellent hand, unconsciously, he would begin touching and playing with his hat. Needless to say, he never won.
The greatest poker player I ever saw was a guy who created additional movements and signals at a poker table than anybody I had ever seen. He was flawless in the way he dressed. Constantly an high priced suit and tie, footwear shined and nails manicured. He was fastidious in this manner. And he was generally brushing his pants or rubbings his hands or putting his chips in tidy little piles.
I use to analyze him for long periods of time. I would attempt to see if I could spot his tell. Choosing fuzz off his shirt- did this mean he was bluffing? Stacking his chips in a short pile – did this imply he had a beneficial hand?
Many years later I bumped into him in a very bar in Philly and we had a beverage. I asked him if he were aware of all those motions he produced or if they were subconscious. He told me that every single little thing he did at a poker table was deliberate. He said that everyone is always checking out everybody else’s poker face. They’re trying to spot the the tell.
So his system was to give them lots to feel about. His reasoning was if they had been thinking about him selecting a piece of lint off his coat and what it meant they positive weren’t pondering about their cards.
His program was diversion. And it worked for him. In no way give up a process that functions for you.
