Web poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years many types on the first poker game have been created, including some games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling twenty-one than long-standing poker, in that the players wager against the dealer instead of each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little conniving or other kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the dealer announcing "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other gamblers acquire 5 cards. After you have seen your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you must either make a call bet or surrender. The call bet’s value is equal to your original wager, which means that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your ante goes immediately to the dealer. After the wager comes the showdown. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, including a sum on par with the initial wager. If the dealer does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The dealer pony’s up money equal to your original bet and fixed odds on your call bet. These expectations are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- two to one for 2 pairs
- 3-1 for 3 of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
