Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only one to make it to the last game in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a huge pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest bettors around the world. While betting on net poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. Gus frequently plays in the 200/400 NL max buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I know Gus is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400NL. Unless he is broke, he has no reason to settle at the table with the min buy in.
