Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha/8 or better) is frequently seen as one of the most complex but popular poker games. It’s a variation that, even more than regular Omaha poker, aims for action from every level of players. This is the chief reason why a once obscure game, has expanded in popularity so quickly.
Omaha 8 or better starts just like a normal game of Omaha. 4 cards are given out to every player. A round of wagering follows in which gamblers can bet, check, or drop out. After all the players have in turn called or dropped out, another card is revealed on the turn. an additional sequence of betting happens at which point the river card is revealed. The low hand takes half of the pot, as just like the high hand. When there’s no lower hand presented, the higher hand wins the whole pot.
While it seems complicated initially, following a few hands you will be agile enough to pick up on the base subtleties of play with ease.
